For our guests travelling from overseas, we will be providing accommodation for up to two nights. When you RSVP, you will also be asked to provide some details and choose whether you will be staying with us for one or two nights. We hope you will be able to join us and look forward to celebrating with you with Sirolo. To help you with planning your trip, we have prepared some additional information below:
Joining us on the day
Our ceremony will take place from 4:00 pm at Chiesa di San Nicolò di Bari in Sirolo, Ancona. We encourage guests to arrive at least 30 minutes early to park and get settled before the ceremony begins. After the ceremony, we look forward to celebrating with you at Seebay Hotel, Portonovo from 6:00 p.m. until late.
Chiesa di San Nicolò di Bari is located approximately 20 minutes from Portonovo. Those travelling to Sirolo from Portonovo can take the SP1 (Strada Provinciale del Conero) heading south along the Conero Riviera toward Numana/Sirolo. A small parking lot and on-street parking are available near the church. Free, on-site parking is also available for all guests at Seebay Hotel.
As the area between Sirolo and Portonovo involves steep, winding roads, please allow additional travel time and drive carefully.
Staying with us
Hotel rooms have been reserved for two nights, from September 17 – 19, for guests travelling from overseas. Rooms will be available on your preferred day(s) with check-in from 3:00 p.m.
When you RSVP, you will be asked which night(s) you wish to stay at the hotel. If plans change, please let Selina and Matt know ASAP and we’ll work with the hotel to accommodate you.
If you wish to extend your visit in Portonovo, we have arranged a special rate for guests with the hotel. To take advantage of this, please contact Seebay Hotel, referencing Selina and Matthew’s wedding on September 18.
Getting there
Ancona International Airport (AOI) is located less than 30 minutes from Portonovo, with direct flights from London, Milan, Munich, and Barcelona. If there are no convenient flights to AOI, alternative airports with direct train connections to Ancona include Rimini Fellini Airport (RMI) and Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ).
For those arriving in Ancona, we recommend continuing your journey to Ancona via a short car or taxi ride. Bus services are also available between Ancona and Portonovo, however, if you wish to further explore the area during your stay, renting a car makes it easier to visit nearby towns with limited transport links.
Please note that car rental rates and availability vary between airports. Bologna is often cheaper for rentals compared to cities like Ancona, however will require a longer drive to Portonovo. If you are travelling in a smaller group and interested in carpooling with other guests, please let Selina or Matt know.
Weather
In late September, the weather in Ancona averages highs of 25°C and lows of 19°C. We will be both indoors and outdoors during the day, therefore recommend packing versatile layers for (hopefully) sunnier days and cooler evenings. If you wish to visit the beach, located just a two-minute walk from the hotel, or take advantage of the pool/spa during your stay, keep this in mind while packing.
